Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it may be used, and the limited circumstances in which others may receive it. By continuing to use Livingston County Criminal History, a visitor accepts these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our own system.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email or other direct message may be retained so we can respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the server may receive routine technical and usage details:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • IP address and referring site, when supplied
  • Browser name and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. Along with analytics services, they help show traffic patterns, popular pages, and points where visits end. A browser can block cookies, although some features may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a search request to the selected partner
  • Maintain speed, availability, and basic operation
  • Diagnose faults and improve weak pages
  • Measure which Livingston County resources visitors use
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The content identifies official routes to Livingston County offices, the Circuit Court Clerk, Kentucky State Police, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a third-party criminal record or a consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. A partner's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices govern information submitted to its tool. Review those terms before running a query because we do not control the partner's processing.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to the Livingston County government, Kentucky courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's own policy governs. Read it before supplying personal details.

Advertising providers may use their systems to measure activity across sites and select ads. We do not operate that tracking.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:

  • Analytics providers measuring use and performance
  • Search partners processing a submitted query
  • Advertising networks serving content on a page
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information within our control. No internet system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.

Your Data Rights

Rights can vary with residence and applicable law. The Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, governs requests to Kentucky public agencies, not this private site. 502 KAR 30:060 limits dissemination of certain Kentucky criminal-history data, especially nonconviction information. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about that visitor
  • Request correction of inaccurate visitor data
  • Seek deletion where retention is not required
  • Opt out of processing when that choice is available

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. A changed version will appear here with a new effective date, and continued site use will be governed by the posted policy.

Effective date: July 26, 2026
